Biography

Ted Hobbs, DVM, MCR is the Head of Surgery at the Oregon National Primate Research Center, home of over 5,000 nonhuman primates used in biomedical research. He also heads an independent research program that includes significant work in characterizing alopecia, acid-base predictors of mortality in multiple trauma, and blood volume determination. In 2017, Dr. Hobbs founded QuantiPort, Inc., an OHSU startup company that is developing a fast, inexpensive, and easy method for determining circulating blood volume. This project is currently funded by a Department of Defense SBIR grant as well as ONAMI Launch funding.
