Biography

David H. Farrell, PhD, FAHA, is Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Gamma Therapeutics, Inc., an Oregon-based early stage biotechnology company developing a novel class of biopharmaceutical and diagnostic test solutions for the cardiovascular disease industry. He is also a Professor of Surgery at the Oregon Health & Science University, and has appointments in the Department of Molecular and Medical Genetics and the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology. His academic research interests are in the biochemistry, genetics, regulation, and epidemiology of the blood clotting factor fibrinogen.

Prof. Farrell is currently Chair of the Thrombosis 2 Committee of the American Heart Association and on the Editorial Board of the open access journal Thrombosis. He has received SBIR/STTR grants from NIH and NSF, as well as a grant from the Office of Naval Research.
