Biography
Anne Carlson, Ph.D. is a Technology Development Manager in OHSU’s Technology Transfer & Business Development office. Her role as TDM includes the evaluation, protection, marketing, and licensing of oncology-related technologies. She is passionate about helping investigators identify inventions that arise from their research, and then assisting them in further developing and translating into the market those inventions that have commercial potential. Prior to joining OHSU, Anne was a Post-Doctoral Researcher and an Assistant Research Biologist at UCLA’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center. She then switched gears, moved to Portland and worked for more than twelve years as a patent agent specializing in biotechnology patent law at the law firm Klarquist Sparkman, LLP. Anne was also a volunteer with the Oregon Bioscience Association for many years and is one of the founding members of the Programs and Events Committee.
Currently, she volunteers her time to the Portland Community College Bioscience Advisory Board as a member of the Curriculum Development Subcommittee. Anne received a Ph.D. in Anatomy and Cell Biology from UCLA, and Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Biology from McGill University (Montreal, Canada). She is also licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as a Registered Patent Agent.
